Sarn\u0131c\u0131n bulundu\u011fu yerde daha \u00f6nce bir Bazilika bulundu\u011fundan, Bazilika Sarn\u0131c\u0131 olarak da an\u0131l\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sarn\u0131\u00e7, uzunlu\u011fu 140 metre, geni\u015fli\u011fi 70 metre olan dikd\u00f6rtgen bi\u00e7iminde bir alan\u0131 kaplayan, dev bir yap\u0131d\u0131r. 52 basamakl\u0131 ta\u015f bir merdivenle inilen bu sarn\u0131c\u0131n i\u00e7erisinde her biri 9 metre y\u00fcksekli\u011finde 336 s\u00fctun bulunmaktad\u0131r. Birbirine 4.80 metre aral\u0131klarla dikilen bu s\u00fctunlar, her biri 28 s\u00fctun i\u00e7eren 12 s\u0131ra meydana getirirler. Sarn\u0131c\u0131n tavan aral\u0131\u011f\u0131 kemerler vas\u0131tas\u0131yla s\u00fctunlara aktar\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. \u00c7o\u011funlu\u011fu daha eski yap\u0131lardan topland\u0131\u011f\u0131 anla\u015f\u0131lan ve \u00e7e\u015fitli mermer cinslerinden yontulmu\u015f s\u00fctunlar\u0131n b\u00fcy\u00fck bir k\u0131sm\u0131 tek par\u00e7adan, bir k\u0131sm\u0131 da iki par\u00e7adan olu\u015fmaktad\u0131r. Bu s\u00fctunlar\u0131n ba\u015fl\u0131klar\u0131, yer yer farkl\u0131 \u00f6zellikler ta\u015f\u0131r. Bunlardan 98 adedi Corint \u00fcsl\u00fbbu yans\u0131t\u0131rken bir b\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fc de Dor \u00fcsl\u00fbbunu yans\u0131tmaktad\u0131r. Sarn\u0131c\u0131n tu\u011fladan \u00f6r\u00fclm\u00fc\u015f 4.80 metre kal\u0131nl\u0131\u011f\u0131ndaki duvarlar\u0131 ve tu\u011fla d\u00f6\u015feli zemini, Horasan harc\u0131ndan kal\u0131n bir tabakayla s\u0131vanarak su ge\u00e7mez hale getirilmi\u015ftir.
