It is a popular discussion topic for Turks whether the water accompanying coffee is drunk before or after the coffee. Proverbs such as “Bir fincan kahvenin 40 y\u0131l hat\u0131r\u0131 vard\u0131r” (literally, a cup of coffee leads to a 40 years of gratitude) accentuates the importance of coffee in daily life.<\/strong><\/p>\n
